My undergraduate schooling was at Luther College and I had my fair share of meals here as a student. Driving through to Dubuque with my friend and fiancee I convinced them to stop and try it out. Don Jose never disappoints!
I got a margarita and burrito. The margarita tasted great and the burrito's portion size, taste, and presentation were excellent. As a group we got queso and chips and that also hit the spot. We sat outside and the umbrellas were situated to assist in avoiding direct exposure to the sun if someone was into that (I'm pale so I was). The service we received was also tremendous and timely, so an easy 5 stars from me!
Stopped here after biking on a beautiful Fall day. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. The menu had a wide selection, which made it hard to decide. Our food arrived quickly and was top notch. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.
Good service. Margarita was a bit spendy and watered down tasting but came in a cute reusable cup. Didn't get any food.
Don Jose was wonderful as always ! The food was really good and plenty of it ! I always end up bringing half of my meal home ! The owners and their staff are always very pleasant . The service was fast and orders were accurate as always ! Don Jose is our " go-to" in Decorah for my friends and I !
Omg! 😍 First time here and wife and I loved it. A must try, Asada plate, house special salsa Verde, refried beans, food portions, I could go on and on. Super Delicious 😋 …
Atmosphere was great, food and service below average. I ordered 2 chicken tacos one soft shell one hard. They served me ground beef instead, the hard shell was soggy with grease. Won’t go again.
They were very busy but only waited like 10 minutes out of 15.
Very Good and quite friendly waiter!
One had fajitas-steak, one Shredded beef tamales combo, one chimichanga. We were pleasantly stuffed!!
We were in town for the dance competition and had already been price gouched with not very friendly people in Decorah every time we turned around....
Not at Don Jose!! We had a very nice relaxing meal that was not only absolutely delicious but great on the pocket book! Very friendly staff that made our day.
We will definitely be back next year, when we again have our JFK comp.
